Hester Morris Merriman 1850 - 1930

Hester Morris Merriman was born in Thringstone, Leicestershire in 1850. She was the fifth and last child of William Merriman and Hannah Merriman (nee Branley).

On 7th April 1861 the Census was held. Hester Morris Merriman was living in the Bull's Head Inn, Loughborough Road, Thringstone, Leicestershire, with her mother Hannah Merriman (nee Bramley), her sister's Hannah Merriman, Mary Ann Merriman and Jane Merriman and her nephew's John William Ward Merriman and Edward George Merriman.

On 2nd April 1871 the Census was held. Hester Morris Merriman was living in Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire, she was working as a servant in the household of James Knott and his wife Jane Knott along with their children Arthur Knott, Donald Knott, Eveline Knott, Murray Knott, Helen Knott and a fellow servant Mary Ann Finn.

In 1873 Hester Morris Merriman married Charles Gough in Derbyshire.

On 3rd April 1881 the Census was held. Hester Morris Gough (nee Merriman) was living at 15 Montrose Street, Marske-by-the-Sea, Yorkshire. She was working as a Drapier's Wife and living with her children; Florence Gough born 1874, Percy Gough born 1877 and James Charles Gough born 1879.

On 5th April 1891 the Census was held. Hester Morris Gough (nee Merriman)) was working as the Publican of the The Bull's Head Inn, Loughborough Road, Thringstone, Leicestershire. Living with her were her children Florence Gough, Percy Gough, Charles Gough and Gertrude Gough born 1883.

On 31st March 1901 the Census was held. Hester Morris Gough (nee Merriman) was still living at The Bull's Head Inn, Loughborough Road, Thringstone, Leicestershire. She was living with her husband Charles Gough and her son James Charles Gough.

In 1930 Hester Morris Gough died.
